We are very proud of the achievements of our pupils at St Paul’s. Our 2025–2026 statutory assessment results reflect the hard work of our children, staff and families, with strong outcomes across the school.

Early Years

Our Reception children achieved exceptionally strong outcomes, with 93% achieving a Good Level of Development, compared with an estimated national figure of approximately 72%. This continues the strong outcomes seen in Early Years at St Paul’s in recent years.

Phonics

In the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, 93% of pupils met the expected standard, significantly above the estimated national figure of approximately 82%.

Developing confident, fluent readers remains a central priority at St Paul’s and these results demonstrate the strong foundations our children develop from the beginning of their time at school.

Key Stage 2

Our Year 6 pupils also achieved strong outcomes.

• 73% achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics combined, compared with 63% nationally.

• 20% achieved the higher standard across reading, writing and mathematics combined, compared with approximately 8% nationally.

• 87% achieved the expected standard in reading, with 40% achieving the higher standard.

• 93% achieved the expected standard in writing, with 27% working at greater depth.

• 100% achieved the expected standard in science.

We are particularly pleased that pupils achieving the higher combined standard placed the school within the top 10% nationally in the comparative data contained within our assessment report.

Continuing to Improve

Assessment information is one of a number of ways in which we evaluate the quality of education at St Paul’s. We celebrate these strong outcomes while continuing to identify areas where further improvement is needed.

For example, multiplication-table fluency remains an area of focus. While pupils' wider mathematics attainment was broadly in line with national outcomes, the proportion achieving full marks in the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check was below the estimated national figure. This will therefore remain an important area of development.

As a small school, individual pupils can have a significant impact on percentages from year to year. We therefore consider assessment outcomes alongside pupils' individual starting points, progress, work across the curriculum and the wider development of every child.
